A hand-built offset electric from master luthier Uberfrank, finished in Light Pelham Blue with a natural back. Serial #22-014, originally built January 2023, ex-demo with a new re-finish.

Overview

Built by Uberfrank Custom Guitars, this Spellbinder Custom is one of the more spec-intensive builds in their catalogue. Three Lollar Charlie Christian pickups through an 8-way LED push button selector gives this guitar a tonal range that goes well beyond the standard offset template. The re-finish is new, and the overall condition is excellent. A genuinely unusual guitar at a price that reflects its history.

Tone and Feel

The Lollar Charlie Christians are among the most distinctive pickup choices available. Clear, airy and articulate with a pronounced mid-range character that sits beautifully in a mix. The 8-way selector unlocks a wide range of combinations across the three pickups, making this a genuinely versatile instrument without any of the tonal compromises that usually come with multi-pickup layouts. The mahogany neck has a warm, settled feel and the 24 3/4 inch scale length makes the guitar easy to play at pitch. The Richlite board is smooth and consistent across its whole length.
