A handmade S-style electric from Surrey-based luthier Mike Hobbs, built to replicate the tone and feel of a 1962 Fender. Fiesta Red relic nitrocellulose finish with parchment 3-ply guard.
Overview
Built by Mike Hobbs, this is the same considered construction as the rest of his S-style range with a finish that has always aged well. Two-piece alder body, maple C-shape neck, rosewood fingerboard with clay dots, and Monty's 62 hand-wound pickups. The parchment 3-ply guard against the Fiesta Red finish gives it a period-correct combination that is hard to argue with.

Tone and Feel
The same alder body and Monty's 62 pickup combination that runs through Mike's S-style range delivers consistent results: balanced, clear and responsive, with the chime and definition that makes the design worth returning to. The rosewood fingerboard has a slightly warmer, darker feel than maple and suits the Fiesta Red character well. The parchment pickguard is the right call aesthetically and the relic treatment puts the guitar in the right frame of mind from the first time you play it.
