A raw, vocal instrument with cedar's immediate warmth riding over the snap and bite of ambrosia maple - loose in the hands, direct in voice, and built to sing.
Overview
I am mainly focused on producing balanced and responsive guitars that can be used in many settings from noisy bluegrass jams to solo finger-picking concerts. I place particular emphasis on how they play and feel. These instruments are built by a player, for players.
Beyond their primary acoustic function, I maintain a strong yet minimal visual aesthetic, often favouring simple straight lines, uncomplicated appointments, and classically balanced forms. This approach allows the wood - often dazzling enough on its own - to speak for itself, both visually and sonically.
My passion is to create hand-built instruments that honour the American tradition of luthiery while introducing a modern look and feel through custom details and ideas.

Tone & Feel
Cedar delivers warmth and immediacy straight out of the box - rich, vocal, and responsive to a light touch in a way that spruce never quite is from. Paired with ambrosia maple, which brings snap, clarity and a bright midrange bite, the result is a guitar with real presence and cut - warm up top, articulate underneath, with the kind of punchy note separation that carries across a room without amplification. Small it may be but lacking in presence it is not.
At 625mm scale and a wide 45mm nut, string tension is loose, easy and expressive. The kind of guitar that sounds like it's already been played hard for decades - raw, direct. In the spirit of Jimmie Rodgers' early Martins its a working instrument, built in the boutique style.
